Editorial design

What is Editorial Design?

Editorial design involves creating visually appealing and polished documents (using specialist design software such as Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) that engage and inform readers in such a way that your content is clearly communicated, memorable and easy to comprehend. The core components of any printed (or digital) publication are text and images, so expert skills in typography, page layouts, grids and composition are essential in order to produce professional-looking publications.

In addition, a designer who works in editorial design should be proficient in undertaking the advanced technical processes involved in pre-pass flight checking of a document prior to commercial printing.

How We Can Help You

At Epiphany Editing & Publishing, we have a high level of expertise and experience working in such areas as page layout design and formatting, image editing, typography (font selection) and typesetting. In addition, with a flair for words and in-depth knowledge of linguistics (including spelling and punctuation), we can ensure that our clients’ projects will be grammatically correct, as well as being attractively presented.

We help organisations or individuals produce accurate and creative publications that effectively communicate their message. By formatting a document according to the layout style, design composition, colour palette and typography requirements of our clients, we skillfully juxtapose all text and graphic elements on the page so that the final outcome is compelling and easy to read.
